Sharp announces color e-book reader, the oddly named Galapagos

What's more, there are two sizes - 10-8 inches and 5.5 inches. Think of anything else that's likely to get a mid-size version soon?

Anyway, the Galapagos - a name associated with isolated development, of course - will hit the streets in December at an undisclosed price. Sharp says it will launch with access to 30,000 books, magazines and newspapers via Wi-Fi. Technically, it supports the XMDF e-book format.

Lastly, the press release talks of "an easy-to-use interface that gives full consideration to the book culture of Japan." What could that mean?

UPDATE: I've attached two PDFs in English from Sharp, the press release and a concept document that talks a little about Darwin. Still think the name conveys the wrong image, though.
